RAM 24 March 1978

ABBA the movie is playing to packed cinemas in London’s West End but the critics have given it the thumbs down.

It’s been described as being as “pure as freshly churned butter”. So what’s new? Business is business. (ABBA, you might remember own one of Europe’s biggest primary industry, import and export firms).

At a London press conference ABBA admitted that the movie, made in Australia last year, was a substitute for a tour in 1978.

Meanwhile, the soundtrack has topped the British singles and albums charts.
